Police arrest criminals after chase in Campo Grande

Two men, aged 25 and 35, were arrested this Wednesday (24), after a chase with police officers from the Department for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (Dracco), in the Parque Dallas neighborhood, in Campo Grande. According to investigation, the suspects were trying to extort a family, when they were surprised by the police team. See the video above.

According to information from Dracco, the police were already monitoring the suspects, and upon noticing the police attack, one of the men threw his car at the department’s officers and they fled.

After escaping, bandits and police began intense pursuit. Security cameras captured the moment the criminals collided with another vehicle, after the police fired shots at the car’s tire.

Without the car, the criminals began to escape on foot and were followed by police officers. Soon after, Dracco’s team approached the suspects and made the arrests.

According to Dracco’s investigation, the suspects are linked to a criminal faction and were extorting the payment of R$12,000 from a family in the region. “Immediately after learning of the facts and information that the criminals would contact the victim with the intention of forcing her to provide undue economic advantage, Dracco’s operatives interceded with a view to stopping the criminal action”, explained the delegate responsible for the case, Ana Cláudia Medina.

During his investigative work, Dracco was able to confirm that one of the suspects was on the run from justice, with a final sentence of sixteen years in prison for the crime of drug trafficking.

The suspects were arrested and must answer for the crimes of extortion increased by the recruitment of agents, disobedience, attempted murder.
