17-year-old teenager suspected of killing brother in southwestern Bahia

A 17-year-old teenager was arrested on Tuesday (24), suspected of stabbing her own brother to death in the municipality of Iuiu, in the southwest of Bahia.

According to information gathered by the production team at TV Sudoeste, a TV Bahia affiliate in the region, the victim was identified as Leonardo Alexandre da Silva, aged 23. He was taken to a local hospital by family members, but he did not survive his injuries.

The teenager reported to the Civil Police that she stabbed her brother because he was attacking her by punching her in the face.

She said she struck him once in the neck. The boy would have run after her to continue the attacks, but fell to the ground because of his injury.

Leonardo’s body was taken to the Technical Police Department (DPT) of Guanambi, approximately 100 km from the crime scene.

The apprehended teenager was taken to the Guanambi police station, where she remains in custody.
