A 48-year-old truck driver died after crashing his truck behind a trailer that was stopped at a traffic light at km 140.8 of BR 101, in the Canivete neighborhood, in Linhares, in the North of Espírito Santo, in the early hours of this Tuesday – fair (23), around 12:46 am. The report of The Gazette found that the victim was identified as Jefferson da Silva Dantas.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the driver was trapped in the wreckage after the crash. The braking marks on the road are short, which indicates that he may have been slow to react. The truck driven by Jefferson was carrying MDF material.
According to the Eco101 Operational Control Center, the incident was recorded at 1:12 am and involved a truck and a trailer at km 141.8, in Linhares. To provide assistance, the concessionaire’s operational resources were called in (ambulance, tow truck and inspection vehicle), in addition to the PRF, SAMU, Civil Police expertise and IML. The truck driver died at the scene. Traffic followed by diversion onto the marginal lanes in both directions and was completely reopened at 4:07 am.
There was only the driver in the truck, who was unharmed. The larger vehicle had no load and was empty. Traffic in the area was not impacted on Tuesday morning.
The Scientific Police (PCIES) informs that the investigation was called in the early hours of this Tuesday (23), at around 01:26, for a collision with a fatal victim, on the BR-101 highway, near the Santa Cruz neighborhood, in Linhares. . The body of the victim, a 48-year-old man, was sent to the Legal Medical Service (SML) of Linhares, to be autopsied and, later, released to family members. The incident was handled by the Federal Highway Police (PRF).
