Schools in the state education network in the capital and in the interior of Bahia will receive major reinforcements. During a solemn ceremony at the Anísio Teixeira Institute (IAT), in Salvador, governor Jerônimo Rodrigues authorized the appointment, on Monday afternoon (22), of 549 teachers and 108 pedagogical coordinators, of which two coordinators are indigenous. All nominees were approved in the public competition governed by Saeb notice 03/2022, published on 08/01/2022.
A Pankararé ethnic group, from the village in the municipality of Glória, Leidizu Rodrigues, did not hide her emotion when she was received by the governor. “It’s an incredible moment, very important, very exciting. We are here representing the entire class of indigenous teachers from Bahia, who fought so hard for this career. We are here trying to make history and show that indigenous school education has potential and is different.”
The governor pointed out that the appointment reaffirms the State Government’s commitment to valuing teaching and ensuring quality public education. “We are constantly delivering schools, physical works and offering full-time education. We know the importance of having a physical structure, but if we don’t have strategic people, like teachers, we won’t make a difference. So today here, we are delivering almost 700 professionals, including those in indigenous education. A moment like this only strengthens our responsibility for quality public education in our state”, emphasized Jerônimo Rodrigues.
Amanda Fraga dos Santos will fill a position in Salvador and was eager to join the team of professionals at the state network. “I prepared a lot for this contest. A teacher never stops studying, we are always updating ourselves. It was the third time I made the selection and I got it. I’m going to teach math and I’m really excited to get started,” said.
The list of 657 educators will be published in the Official State Gazette this Tuesday (23) and can also be consulted on the Education Portal (www.educacao.ba.gov.br) or on the RH Bahia Portal (rhbahia.ba.gov.br). The professionals will be present in schools in the 27 territories of identity, creating and expanding the capacity to serve students. Although 2,113 vacancies have been offered, the State government has already recruited 2,326 teachers and pedagogical coordinators.
After appointment, candidates nominated for the Territorial Education Center (NTE) 26 / Salvador must appear at the Education Secretariat of the State of Bahia, located at Av. Luiz Viana Filho, nº 550, 5ª Avenida, Centro Administrativo da Bahia – CAB , 1st floor, room 117. Candidates approved for the interior of the state must appear at the NTEs headquarters. They must provide personal documentation with a photo within 30 days, counting from the date of publication of the appointment act in the official body.
Graduation course – After the appointment, the 144 new state employees from Salvador and Feira de Santana participate in the training course for educators, with face-to-face classes this Tuesday and Wednesday (23 and 24), at the IAT. For other entrants, it will take place according to the schedule of the Territorial Centers.
The objective is to contribute to the training of appointed educators, in order to support professional development, with a view to improving various aspects of teaching in the public service, as explained by the acting Secretary of Education, Rowenna Brito.
“Having effective teachers in the network is important in strengthening learning, the bond between students and these professionals, and the belonging of professionals to their school units. The teachers will spend two days in training, so that they can learn about the network, programs, projects and strategic actions of the Secretariat. Our perspective is that next Monday (29), they will already be working in the school units”, said the head of the department.
