This Wednesday (24) is the first working day of new traffic rules in Brazil Avenuestarting on the Saint George holiday, on Tuesday (23)

Passenger cars and motorcycles will be able to use 3 of the 4 lanes again, with some conditions (understand below).

  • Avenida Brasil has 4 central lanes It is 2 sides by meaning;

Since the 1st, with the start of BRT Transbrasil operations, half of the lanes were restricted to buses and taxis. With only 2 lanes in each direction open to the rest of the vehicles, Drivers began to complain about traffic jams and delays.

The express corridor has 17 stations and part of the Gentileza Intermodal Terminal (TIG), in the center of Rio, to the Deodoro Terminal, in the North Zone.

They are 50 articulated buses circulating from 4am to midnightwith departures every 5 minutes.

Avenida Brasil now has 26 km of segregated lanescrossing 18 neighborhoods.
