Harvest advances in MG, but rain delays in RS and PR

-

The National Supply Company (Conab) released an updated overview of the corn harvest in Brazil, highlighting advances in Minas Gerais, while recent rains delay the process in Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná. Bahia presents good prospects, while Maranhão and Goiás record uneventful progress. In Pará, the harvest has already been completed.

In the state of Minas Gerais, there has been a consistent advance in the harvest, contrasting with Rio Grande do Sul, where recent rainfall has significantly delayed this process.

In Bahia, most corn crops show satisfactory development, with the exception of areas in the Center-South of the state, where yields are below expectations.

In Paraná, the rains also impacted harvesting operations, reducing the pace of work in the fields.

In Santa Catarina, the harvest was completed in the Far West and is in the final phase in the Planalto Norte. However, in the Southern Plateau and Midwest regions, precipitation also delayed harvesting activities.

In Maranhão, crops are reported to be in good condition, which is a positive indication for the yield of this crop in the region.

In Goiás, harvest progress is ongoing, with no reports of major complications. In Pará, the harvest has already been completed, marking the end of the cycle for this season in the state.

Comparing the progress of the 2023/24 Harvest with the previous year, we noticed a slightly slower pace (2.9% delay), considering the 56.7% until April 21, 2024, compared to 59.6% in last year.
