An albino python snake measuring more than 5 meters in length was found on the farm of a sculptor accused of killing four young people aged between 17 and 20 in Arapiraca, Alagoas. The bodies of the victims were found last Friday (19) inside a well on the property of the author, who is a sports shooter and hunter (CAC).
According to the Environmental Police Battalion of the Alagoas Military Police, the animal is an exotic species with Asian origins. Considered one of the largest snakes in the world, the Asian python can easily kill asphyxiated prey by wrapping itself around the victim. In this case, the animal is albino, which makes it considered even rarer. The animal was kept by the perpetrator in a bathroom, along with a boa constrictor.
The python is capable of reproducing alone and, due to the absence of predators in Brazil, it can cause ecological imbalance if it lives outdoors. The two snakes were taken to the Wild Animal Screening Center (Cetas) of the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama)
Slaughter
The victims were identified as Letícia da Silva Santos, 20 years old; Lucas da Silva Santos, 15 years old; Joselene de Souza Santos, 17 years old and Erick Juan de Lima Silva, 20 years old. Letícia and Lucas’ mother reported that the young people had disappeared since April 13th. The four provided cleaning services for the sculptor, who produced sacred images for several cities in Alagoas.
Letícias and Lucas’ mother also reported to the police that residents of the rural area of Arapiraca had heard around 20 shots in sequence, a fact that would have caught the attention of residents. Investigators searched and found the location of the possible shooting, which served as the sculptor’s studio. The bodies were found inside a well and it took agents around five hours to remove them from the scene.
The sculptor was arrested and confessed to having committed the crime together with a nephew and an accomplice, who are considered fugitives. The author allegedly killed Lucas and Erick after they allegedly stole a cell phone and equipment from them. The sculptor claims to have accidentally shot one of them while looking for the young men and, after that, decided to execute them all.
At least 10 weapons and a pickup truck were found on the property, as were the two snakes created by the sculptor. The case continues to be investigated by the Civil Police.
