With 15,174 probable cases, a new bulletin from the State Department of Health indicates a 542.1% increase in occurrences compared to the same period last year

Between December 31, 2023 and March 30 of this year, Pernambuco recorded 15,174 probable cases of dengue (confirmed and under investigation). According to Epidemiological Bulletin No. 13 of the State Department of Health of Pernambuco (SES-PE), released this Wednesday (3), the number is 542.1% higher than the record made in the same period in 2023.
Among the new cases of death, six were analyzed and already discarded, another 18 were reported for arboviruses and are still under investigation. The bulletin also shows that the number of cities that are in the medium incidence stage has risen to 58, while another 37 are already established in the high incidence stage.
The data indicate an average incidence of cases in Regional Health Managements (Geres) I, II, IV, V, VIII, IX and X. Managements VII and XII already have a high incidence.
Other arboviruses
In Bulletin 13, Chikungunya appears with 2,829 probable cases, with an incidence of 31.2 per 100 thousand inhabitants. To date, 174 cases have been confirmed. In turn, Zika, which has not been circulating in the state for a few years, has 259 probable cases, without any confirmation.
