At least three people were injured in three accidents that occurred in the South of Minas this Wednesday (1st), the Labor Day holiday. In one of the incidents, a 26-year-old driver collided head-on with a trailer and had to be taken to Bom Pastor Hospital.
The accident happened on Avenida Porto Seco, in the Flamboyant neighborhood, around 5:30 am. According to the Fire Department, when the team arrived at the scene, they found the victim conscious. He was rescued with a fracture in one of his legs and taken to Bom Pastor Hospital.
The driver of the truck was not injured. The Military Police were responsible for traffic control at the site. The causes of the accident are still unknown.
Truck loaded with soap overturns in Fernão Dias, in Lavras
A trailer overturned this Wednesday morning (1st) on Rodovia Fernão Dias, close to the Lavras (MG) interchange that gives access to BR-265. The driver was rescued with minor injuries.
According to Arteris, the accident happened at km 688 of the road towards Belo Horizonte (MG). The truck was carrying bars of soap. Part of the load was scattered on the track.
According to the concessionaire that manages the stretch, during the morning there was slowdown in the left lane. The queue reached 1 km.
Man crashes into embankment and car overturns in rural Guaxupé
A 27-year-old man was injured after crashing his car into an embankment and overturning in Guaxupé (MG), this Wednesday (1st). The case happened on the side road that connects Guaxupé to Eco Espaço, close to the Sossego fishing site.
According to the Fire Department, the driver had lost control of the vehicle and after crashing into the embankment. The vehicle then overturned in the middle of the road.
According to the military, the victim had minor injuries and was taken by firefighters to the emergency room in Guaxupé.
Couple run over on Avenida de Passos
A 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were run over this Tuesday (30), on Avenida Francisco Avelino Maia, in Passos (MG). According to the Military Police, the driver did not provide assistance to the victims.
According to the PM, the victims were run over while crossing the pedestrian crossing. They were rescued by Samu and taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) with minor injuries.
The Civil Police reported that the driver of the vehicle was not arrested and that the case will be investigated.
