Industrial sector in MS generates more than 3 thousand jobs in two months

The industrial sector in Mato Grosso do Sul opened 1,342 jobs in February 2024 alone. This positive result reflects the dynamics of 9,309 hirings compared to 7,967 layoffs in the period, according to data released today (3) by Fiems Industrial Radar.

In the first two months of the year, the balance is even more significant, totaling 3,485 vacancies created, the result of 18,581 hirings and 15,096 dismissals, which represents 33% of the total number of vacancies open in the State.

Among the industrial activities that contributed most to this positive scenario in February are building construction, with 297 vacancies created, followed by alcohol manufacturing, with 224 vacancies, and other sectors such as specialized services for construction, highway construction and sugar manufacturing . From January to February, building construction leads the generation of jobs with 593 vacancies, followed by industrial assembly works and alcohol manufacturing.

There was an increase in the number of workers in industrial activities to 159,311 employees in February 2024, marking a growth of 2.24% compared to the end of the previous year. This performance reinforces the importance of the industrial sector, which corresponds to 24% of total formal jobs in the State, second only to the services segment.

The survey also reveals that, in the first two months of 2024, 50 municipalities recorded a positive hiring balance in the industrial sector, led by Campo Grande, Nova Andradina and Ribas do Rio Pardo, among others.
