Rio – Six members of a football group were arrested by the Civil Police, this Wednesday (3), accused of involvement in the death of a rival, in January 2023. According to the corporation, the detainees are members of the group called ‘Puro-Bicho’, which, together with two other groups, Barró and Maus-Elementos, are rivals of the Beira-Rio group, of which the victim was a member.
Ryan do Nascimento Silva Santos, 18 years old at the time, was killed while working making deliveries on a motorcycle, in Bento Ribeiro, in the North Zone. The young man was shot in the chest and was rescued and taken to Carlos Chagas State Hospital, but he did not resist. According to the Civil Police, at the time, another victim was attacked, but managed to survive.
Those arrested in Operation Puro Bicho, carried out by the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC), were identified as Yuri de Souza Andrade, aka ‘Playboy’; Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Júnior, the ‘CL’, Mauro Henrique Silva Pereira dos Santos, the ‘Maurinho’, Luiz Felipe Marques, Jair Rios de Medeiros, the ‘Mildegree’ and Ewanderson Mattos Mendes da Silva.
In addition to their involvement in Ryan’s homicide, the detainees are still being investigated in other deaths resulting from fights between soccer groups.
