Police are searching in the state of Sergipe for two men suspected of kidnapping a businesswoman and stealing her car and belongings in Arapiraca, Agreste de Alagoas. The crime happened this Tuesday (2).

The woman was left in Junqueiro, 41km from Arapiraca, after going through moments of distress. Her vehicle, a black Hilux pickup truck, was abandoned in a sugarcane field in Rosário do Catete, in Sergipe. There is no information about the businesswoman’s health status.

The Sergipe State Civil Police (PC/SE) located the car, but the criminals had already fled. The suspicion is that they fled through the vegetation close to BR-101 and entered some road close to the highway.

Agents from the PC/SE, Sergipe State Military Police (PM/SE) carried out land searches in the region, but were still unable to locate the suspects. The searches also had the help of the Air Tactical Group (GTA.

“According to initial information, the men kidnapped the victim in Arapiraca, in the early afternoon of this Tuesday, releasing him in the city of Junqueiro, also in Alagoas, and taking the victim’s car and belongings. The suspects continued towards Sergipe, at which time in which the Sergipe police forces were alerted”, the police said in a press release.
