ES opens 3,500 places to get a driver’s license for free in the CNH Social program; find out how to sign up

The government of Espírito Santo officially launched this Tuesday, April 2, 2024, registrations for the long-awaited CNH Social program.

With the aim of facilitating access to driver training and qualifications, the program offers a total of 3,500 vacancies in the first phase of this year, with the expectation of reaching 7,000 free driver’s licenses by the end of 2024 across the state .

Divided into two phases throughout the year, this initiative aims not only to promote insertion into the job market, but also to facilitate the mobility and independence of Espírito Santo citizens.

Registration for the first phase of the program has been open since April 2nd and will remain available until April 20th, 2024. Interested parties can apply exclusively through the State Department of Traffic (Detran/ES) website.

The opportunities offered are distributed equally, with 40% intended for obtaining the first license in categories A or B, 20% for adding categories A or B, and the remaining 40% for changing categories D or E.

One of the new features this year is the inclusion of measures to promote diversity and social inclusion. In addition to the vacancies reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), which correspond to 5% of the total, the program now allocates 8% of vacancies to those released from the prison system. If the reserved vacancies are not filled, they will revert to open competition.

To register, candidates must access the website www.detran.es.gov.br and follow the instructions available on the ‘CNH Social’ program banner or button. It is important that all information provided is in accordance with the data recorded in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico). Active registrations until February 9, 2024 will be considered valid.

After registration, it will not be possible to change the chosen category, therefore, candidates must carefully choose the category they wish to obtain.

The important deadlines to be observed are the following:

• Registration: from 04/02/2024 to 04/20/2024
• Announcement of those selected: May 6, 2024, at 12pm
• Registration of those selected: from 05/06/2024 to 05/20/2024
• Single list of substitutes: July 8, 2024, at 12pm
• Registration of substitutes: from 07/08/2024 to 07/17/2024

This initiative by the Espírito Santo government represents a significant step in promoting social inclusion and facilitating access to driver’s licenses, benefiting thousands of citizens throughout the state of Espírito Santo.
