A 13-year-old student was attacked with a stone by another student from Faetec (Technical School Support Foundation) at the Marechal Hermes unit, in the north of Rio de Janeiro. Rio de Janeiro. The case happened on the 26th, but was reported by the victim’s mother on social media on Sunday (31).

According to the report, the teenagers were separated by classmates, while others recorded videos. The mother also said that there were no inspectors from the institution present at the scene.

The woman stated that she questioned management about the lack of these professionals. According to her, the answer she received is that there are property guards, but there are no monitors on campus to support Elementary Education.

The injured student was taken to the UPA (Emergency Care Unit) close to the educational institution, but was not treated due to the lack of a pediatrician. In a private hospital, the boy received stitches in his head. He was left with bruises on his face and a cut on his lip.

Through the social network Instagram, the victim’s mother demanded responses from Governor Cláudio Castro, Mayor Eduardo Paes, the Rio de Janeiro Department of Education and the Municipal Secretary of Health.

What did Faetec say

In a note, the institution reported that the situation was forwarded to Faetec’s Social Service and the region’s Guardianship Council. He also confirmed that the situation has already begun to be monitored by the school’s educational guidance team.

Faetec stated that the two students involved in the incident are assisted by the unit’s Multifunctional Resource Room, which offers specialized educational assistance to students with disabilities or disorders.

“Faetec, after transferring the student to another unit, took the opportunity to discuss with those responsible the need to follow, as advised, the treatment recommended by the network’s specialists. Faetec will investigate the case and the measures taken by the unit’s management”, wrote in one excerpt.

Finally, the institution confirmed that it had relocated guards on campus and reinforced that all complaints of bullying were investigated and those responsible were summoned for conciliation. Furthermore, he stated that he has carried out educational activities on the topic.
