Pernambuco publishes issuance schedule for the new National Identity Card
The Pernambuco government released the calendar for issuing the new National Identity Card (CIN) in the state. The updated version of the document, which has a free first copy, will be made available to citizens according to their age (see video above). Scheduling is done on the PE Cidadão portal.
The new National Identity Card unifies the General Registry (RG) in all units of the federation through the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF). In an interview with Good morning PE This Tuesday (2), the director of the Tavares Buril Identification Institute (IITB), Paulo Jeann, said that the CIN has a physical and digital version and is a more secure document.
“Today, all the mechanisms that process the wallet are digital. Then, we have a national standard model that will prevent the spread of various scams that are so common in the country”, stated the director of IITB.
The old identity card has not lost its validity and continues to be accepted until February 28, 2032 across the country. The scheduling calendar began on Monday (1st) and primarily covers those over 60 years of age. Check out the other dates:

Since January 2023, more than 60 thousand people in Pernambuco have acquired the new wallet, which was being distributed in the form of tests, according to the IITB director. He explained that the schedule was the solution found to reach the greatest number of citizens in the next three years.
The new identity card model has the following data:
- Name of the person and social name (if applicable);
- CPF;
- Sex;
- Date of birth;
- Nationality or place of birth;
- Signature of the holder (optional in cases of illiteracy, disability or temporary loss of function);
- Names of mother and father (if applicable);
- Issuing body, place and issue;
- QR Code for electronic validation;
- Blood type;
- Information about organ donation.
