With the amount invested for night marking at the airport, the structure will be able to receive activities at night, which will facilitate the receipt of organs for transplants carried out in Blumenau.

“We are revitalizing and restoring, because an airport like this one needs to have life, traffic, night markings, it has to have conditions so that pilots can descend safely. A revitalization is being carried out, a restoration with drainage, in short, a very well done job that will make it possible to receive regional flights daily, flights that can be part of this network that the state of Santa Catarina has already established”, he highlighted.

In an interview with the team at NDTVJorginho Mello comments that Blumenau airport is strategic among the 16 public areas that will still be revitalized by the Santa Catarina government.

“We already have 12 in the works, so it is another piece of equipment that we are making available here in Blumenau to meet the demands, growth of the city, businesses and entrepreneurs who arrive and go”.

The Secretary of Ports, Airports and Railways of Santa Catarina, Beto Martins, highlighted the importance of investments for logistics, social and economic development of the state. Furthermore, he commented that the objective is to have all 16 airports under construction by the end of the year.

“Last year, we managed to bring Azul to a commercial flight at Oktoberfest, but we could have achieved much more. What was lacking was the quality of an airport suitable for receiving these flights. Now, with markings, with a resurfaced runway, Blumenau certainly qualifies to be the size that the city deserves and to be on par with the best airports in Santa Catarina”, said Beto Martins.

Improvements at the airport will facilitate the transport of organ transplants

The mayor of Blumenau, Mário Hildebrandt, accompanies the governor on her visit to the city and celebrates the investment to improve Quero-Quero Airport.

“These important works will make Blumenau airport capable of receiving regional flights, enhancing these flights for tourism, leisure and commercial demand, which is fundamental in this process”, explained Mário.

The mayor also comments that the marking project has already been approved by Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency).

“And now, with this complementary agreement, we are ready to finish this work as soon as possible. We imagine that it will take 90 to 120 days for the work to be fully completed and the airport to be ready to receive night flights, including.”
