According to information from Ascom Casal, the suspension of abstraction is necessary until the turbidity of the water decreases, which generally occurs after approximately 12 hours. As soon as the water quality is restored, the abstraction will be reactivated and the supply will be normalized.
The water removed from the source is sent to the Water Treatment Station (ETA), where it goes through the treatment process before being distributed by Casal to Verde Alagoas, which is responsible for distributing it to the residents of the cities of Anadia and Maribondo.
The temporary suspension of the supply system aims to guarantee the quality of the water supplied to the population, avoiding possible health problems resulting from excessive turbidity. Casal advises residents to save water during this period and highlights that the forecast is that the supply will return to normal as soon as the situation is regularized.
It is important that residents of both cities are aware of the situation and follow the information released by Casal to find out when the supply system will be reactivated and water distribution will be reestablished. Everyone’s collaboration is essential to guarantee the supply of quality water to the entire population.
