A tragic accident resulted in the death of cyclist Jurani Rodrigues de Miranda, known as “Caxeira”, aged 55, on Sunday afternoon (31/03). The incident occurred on MT-3444, near the Córrego Barroso region, in the municipality of Dom Aquino, around 170 km from Cuiabá.
According to information from the Civil Police, Jurani was run over and found with a broken neck, bruises on his right arm and a deep cut on his back. The bicycle he was riding was severely damaged at the rear.
At the scene of the accident, Civil Police experts collected fragments of plastic, possibly from the vehicle involved in the collision, which fled the scene.
Jurani’s body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) by the Official Expertise and Technical Identification (Politec) for necessary procedures.

The case is being investigated by the Civil Police to identify the driver responsible for the accident and clarify the circumstances of what happened.
