The calendar for issuing the new National Identity Card (CIN) was released by the Government of Pernambuco. Starting this Monday (1st), people over 60 can now issue both the physical and digital models free of charge, through scheduling on the Tavares Buril Identification Institute website.

In the Government’s planning, new age groups are added every 3 months. From July 1st, people aged 0 to 11 can get the new CIN. Those aged 20 to 24 must issue the document from April 1, 2025. On April 1, 2026, it will be the turn of the group aged 40 to 44. And finally, there is the age group from 55 to 59 years old, which will have access to a National Identity Card from January 1, 2027. The current ID is only valid until 2032.

Check all deadlines in the table below:

The New National Identity Card uses the CPF number, also bringing together documents such as the National Driving License (CNH) and the Unified Health System (SUS) Card number. Among other innovations are the inclusion of a QR Code in the document, which presents the option of easy and reliable checking by public and private security agents, in addition to the inclusion of a readable area that allows the document to be used on international trips, as long as there is agreement between the countries.
