The new head of the Federal Police in Espírito Santo has a degree in business law and a postgraduate degree in procedural law. He has already worked on investigations in several states, such as Amazonas, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Since Ricas’ departure in February, the Federal Police in Espírito Santo was being temporarily commanded by delegate Arcelino Vieira. The appointment of the new superintendent was signed by the executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, Manoel Carlos de Almeida Neto, last Tuesday (30).

He also asked that the case be processed in São Paulo, where the searches and seizures took place, and not in Curitiba. For him, crimes of procedural fraud, malfeasance and ideological falsehood should be investigated. However, the Federal Public Ministry in São Paulo defended that the case be sent to Paraná, where investigations related to Lava Jato were taking place.
