In April, the National Social Security Institute (INSS) will offer 1,098 vacancies for joint efforts to service the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC/Loas) in six agencies in Rio and Baixada Fluminense. The action is aimed at people with disabilities.

The joint efforts are part of the Social Security Queue Combating Program (PEFPS), created to reduce the stock of benefits waiting to be granted or denied. Those interested in participating must schedule an appointment online — through the website or the Meu INSS app — or by calling 135.

According to the calendar, on the 6th, the service will be at the Nova Iguaçu agency, with 218 vacancies for social assessment of the BPC/Loas concession. Opening hours will be from 7am to 2pm. The unit is located at Rua Unidos 300, in the Metrópole neighborhood.

On the 13th, the service will be at the Avenida Brasil branch, in the capital. 240 places will be offered for case analysis by social workers, with appointments from 7am to 2pm. The address is Avenida Brasil 17,673, in Irajá, in the north of Rio.

On April 20, there will be two INSS units participating in the BPC/Loas joint efforts: the Nilópolis branch, in Baixada Fluminense, with an offer of one hundred vacancies (Estrada Mirandela 351, in the Center) and the Praça da Bandeira branch, with 220 opportunities appointment (Praça da Bandeira 96, in the north of Rio). Services will also be from 7am to 2pm.

On the 27th, there will be three participating agencies: Duque de Caxias, with 200 vacancies on offer; Belford Roxo, with 80; and Praça da Bandeira, with 40. The Caxias unit is located at Rua Marechal Deodoro 1,119, Bairro Jardim Vinte e Cinco de Agosto. Belford Roxo is located at Avenida Benjamim Pinto Dias 895, in the Center. Social workers will also be available from 7am to 2pm in all three cases.

Benefit

The BPC/LOAS is a socio-assistance benefit paid by the INSS in the amount of a monthly minimum wage granted to citizens who prove they have a long-term disability that prevents them from working and supporting themselves and their family. In addition to this population, elderly people aged at least 65 years old who are in a vulnerable situation, unable to provide for themselves, also have the right.

The beneficiary must have a per capita family income equal to or less than ¼ of the minimum wage. This means that, in 2024, each person in your household must have a maximum income of R$353.00.

It is not necessary to have contributed to the INSS throughout your life to be entitled to payment, as long as the required income criteria are proven and the person with a disability is unable to carry out a job.

The April campaign announced by the INSS for the state of Rio will only serve people with disabilities.
