Municipal guards arrest cell phone thief hiding on the floor of a bus | Rio de Janeiro

Rio – A man was arrested red-handed by the Municipal Guard, trying to hide by lying on the floor of a bus, after stealing a cell phone, this Thursday (28). The crime against a pedestrian took place on Avenida Francisco Bicalho, near Rodoviária Novo Rio.

According to the corporation, agents from the Special Operations Group (GOE) were contacted by the victim himself, who gave the suspect’s characteristics. After the searches, the 21-year-old man, whose identity was not revealed, was found lying on the floor of the collective.

According to the Guard, the suspect was searched, but he was without his cell phone, which was hidden under a bus seat. He, however, was recognized by the victim and taken to the 17th DP (São Cristóvão), where he was arrested and will face charges of theft.

The device was returned to the owner at the police station.
