ITINGA DO MARANHÃO – Around 330kg of marijuana were found in the tires of a truck, during an approach carried out by the police in the early hours of this Friday (29), on BR-010, in Itinga do Maranhão.
According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF-MA), the time the driver was traveling caught the attention of the inspection team, who also observed signs of recent changes to some of the tires of the vehicle being approached.
The truck was taken to a tire shop, where it was possible to identify that one of the tires was stuffed with tablets of substances similar to marijuana. More than 300 tablets were found inside eight of the truck’s tires, including a spare tire. When questioned, the driver reported having left Manaus, but presented discrepancies in the information regarding the final destination.

Given the situation, the driver admitted that he was aware of the illicit cargo and that he would be paid for the transportation. When the entire load was weighed, around 330kg of marijuana was identified.
The driver was arrested for drug trafficking and sent, along with the seized drug, to the judicial police.
