On the afternoon of Thursday, 28th, a traffic accident was recorded in the Agreste de Alagoas region. A motorcyclist lost his life after colliding head-on with a passenger car on the AL-485 highway, close to Sítio Serra.
According to information from the Highway Police Battalion (BPRv), the accident occurred around 6 pm. The Fiat Strada, white in color and with an unknown license plate, was heading towards Arapiraca/Feira Grande when it was surprised by the red Honda Pop 100, driven by the victim, identified as Wesley Rodrigues dos Santos.
The collision occurred when both vehicles were traveling in the opposite direction. According to witnesses, the motorcyclist was apparently trying to avoid another unidentified vehicle, which led him to invade the opposite lane and resulted in the fatal collision. Wesley Rodrigues dos Santos died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the passenger car was not injured and remained at the scene to provide assistance and collaborate with authorities during the legal proceedings. The police team promptly isolated the area of the accident and directed traffic, while the Institute of Criminalistics and Legal Medicine (IML) was called to collect the body and carry out subsequent legal procedures.
