Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) criticized the visit of French president, Emmanuel Macron, to president Lula (PT) due to the lack of agreements signed between the two heads of state and suggested “greed” for the Amazon.
“Meetings between heads of state usually end in the signing of agreements. However, according to the character of the head of state, some of these (unspeakable) commitments are only verbal”, https://twitter.com/jairbolsonaro/status/1773397739692302474
In another part of the publication, Bolsonaro said that after a similar meeting in 1992 “a true industry of demarcating indigenous lands began, as was also the case with the well-known ‘Raposa Serra do Sol’ in Roraima”.
“In 1992, after such a meeting, the Minister of Justice was changed, and an ordinance was signed, beginning the demarcation of the extensive Yanomami area (equivalent to the state of Pernambuco or twice the size of Switzerland), for approximately 9 thousand indigenous people. . A nonsense, not to mention a crime against the country”, wrote the former president.
Finally, Bolsonaro congratulated federal deputy Filipe Barros (PL-PR) who filed a request for information addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) so that the Lula government could explain “a series of still obscure issues involving the visit to the country by part of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron”.
Barros asks that the agreements signed between Brazil and France be made available in full, in addition to the technical studies that motivated the drafting of these terms. The deputy also asks for clarification on the “practical and legal effects related to the formalization of negotiations”.
