Government of Tocantins receives a representative from the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation to discuss events that will promote sport and the state’s economy. Palmas will receive the National Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Tournament and the Tocantins Rhythmic Gymnastics Student Cup.

Tocantins will be highlighted on the Brazilian sports scene from November 10th to 17th. Palmas will host the National Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Tournament. The event, promoted by the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (CBG), is expected to receive more than 1,000 athletes from across the country, as well as technical committees and sports lovers. Furthermore, within the modality calendar in the State, the Government of Tocantins will promote, on June 27th to 30th, the Tocantins Rhythmic Gymnastics Student Cuppromoted by the Government of Tocantins, through the State Secretariat for Sports and Youth (Seju).

This Friday, 26th, representatives of the Government of Tocantins received a visit from the general director of the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (CBG), Ricardo Cacho Resende, who highlighted the importance of National Artistic Gymnastics Tournament to Tocantins. “Palmas will be the center of Brazilian gymnastics in November. There will be more than 1,000 athletes, as well as coaches, family members and fans of Brazilian gymnastics. I’m sure it will be a great event. So let’s promote not only local sport, but also income and employment. It will be very good for the state’s economy,” he said.

The Secretary of State for Sports and Youth, Elenil da Penha, also reinforced that these events will promote not only sport, but mainly tourism, culture and the State’s economy. “Our objective is to promote all modalities and events like these that move the hotel chain, commerce, gastronomy, all sectors of the State. For Tocantins, hosting these events is to develop the sport, but also to show the potential of our State for Brazil”, he explained.
