The deadline for regularizing your voter registration card ends this Wednesday (8) across the country. In Tocantins, anyone who still needs to regularize their voter registration status or issue their first voter registration card can seek assistance at one of the 33 electoral offices available.

In addition to staying up to date with the Electoral Court, regularization is a requirement for anyone wishing to exercise their right to vote in the 2024 Municipal Elections.

For non-face-to-face regularization, voters can seek electoral services through the Virtual Voter Service Center (Cave), an initiative of the Regional Electoral Court of Tocantins (TRE), active since January 2022.

Cave functions as the main voter service channel. As a second option, TRE also has contact via WhatsApp or a regular call, on 0800 6486 800, all free of charge and without the need to travel.

Tocantins has 1.1 million voters eligible to vote in the 2024 Elections, with 100% regular electoral registration. However, around 40 thousand still had their electoral status pending regularization until the beginning of May, according to information released by TRE last week.

According to information from the court, the situation in which most irregular voters found themselves was due to absence in previous elections, the “absent voter”. A person who has not voted in three consecutive elections, without justifying their absence, is considered an “absent voter”.

This year alone, from January to April, according to the Regional Electoral Court, 96,304 consultations were carried out across the state. Of this total, the greatest demand (45%) was for the electoral residence transfer service, with 43,343 services.

Next comes the service for issuing the first title, enlistment, with 28,805 (30%) services. And in third place was the electoral review, with a total of 24,156 consultations (25%).

Regularization duty throughout the state

During the last holiday, on Wednesday, May 1st, more than 1,600 appointments were made at the 33 electoral offices, which will be open from 8am to 2pm. Service continued at the same time both on Saturday (4) and Sunday (5).

During this week, in response to a recommendation from the president of TRE-TO, judge João Rigo Guimarães, through Ordinance nº 157/2024, the electoral offices of Tocantins will have extended opening hours from 8am to 6pm.
