The Federal Highway Police (PRF) begins, this Thursday (28), Operation Holy Week. Until next Sunday (31), the PRF will reinforce inspection on federal highways in Roraima, focusing on road safety, prevention of traffic accidents, monitoring of alcohol levels and conduct that create risks for traffic.

The PRF will reinforce policing on BR 174 on both nights of the “Passion of the Christ” event in the municipality of Mucajaí, given the increase in the flow of vehicles during the period. Inspections will be carried out at the exit from Boa Vista, at the Água Boa Operational Unit, as well as at the headquarters of the municipality of Mucajaí, also intensifying blood alcohol inspections at the exit from Mucajaí, both towards Iracema and Boa Vista, in order to prevent Drunk drivers take to the road and cause accidents.

During Operation Semana Santa, the PRF also intensifies the inspection of conduct that poses risks to road safety, such as speeding, improper overtaking, alcohol consumption and driving, faulty lighting system, use of seat belts, among others. .

Tips for traveling safely:

  • -Inspect the vehicle: up-to-date documentation (licensing), check that there are no burned out light bulbs, brake system.
  • -Check the mandatory equipment: spare tire, wheel wrench, triangle, hydraulic jack;
  • -Use and ask that all vehicle occupants wear seat belts;
  • -Respect traffic rules and signage on highways;
  • -Do not exceed the speed limit;
  • -Don’t drink before driving
  • -Do not use your cell phone while driving
