The Military Highway Police (PMR) began on Tuesday (26), “Operation Holy Week 2024”, on the state highways of Mato Grosso do Sul. With the aim of ensuring the safety of people traveling on state highways, During the Holy Week holiday, policing will be reinforced.
The action involves 20 vehicles, from the operational bases and the Tactical Ostensivo Rodoviário-TOR, spread throughout the state, with around 90 military police officers involved.
Attention will be redoubled to the highways that provide access to municipalities and areas with greater tourist flow, such as the region of Bonito, Ponta Porã, Districts of Palmeiras and Piraputanga, among others.
The operation, which is scheduled to end on April 1st at 8:00 am, will focus on intensifying traffic inspection, seeking to prevent accidents and preserve people’s lives, combating the main traffic violations on highways, such as driving under the alcohol, overtaking in a prohibited place, speeding, driving a motor vehicle without a license, among others.
Security Guidelines
The commander of the Military Highway Police Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel PM Vinicius de Souza Almeida, advises everyone traveling during this period to first check the condition and safety equipment of their vehicle, such as brakes, headlights, tires, and carry out the prior planning of your trip, with places to stop for rest, extra care in rainy or foggy places, in addition to having a patient and responsible attitude when driving the vehicle, always respecting other drivers and the traffic law.
