Oggi Sorvetes announces expansion to the Northeast with new factory in Pernambuco

São Paulo, March 27, 2024 – Oggi Sorvetes, the largest ice cream franchise chain in Brazil, announces the expansion of its operations to the Brazilian Northeast region, through the reactivation and modernization of its factory in Pernambuco. With the move, the company will have the potential to take the lead in ice cream production in the country and begin operations in a strategic region for the sector.

The decision reflects the identification of a unique opportunity for the company, the reactivation of a factory in Greater Recife, strengthening its position in the national ice cream market, which allowed it to bring growth plans forward by five years. By taking the lead in production capacity in the sector, Oggi Sorvetes is positioned to become the largest ice cream manufacturer in Brazil. With investments in the Northeast region, the company expects to accelerate its financial results, reaching the first billion reais this year, driven by operational efficiency and competitive prices – present in the company’s DNA.

In 12 months, the company hopes to double its ice cream production capacity in Brazil from 50 million liters per year to 100 million, which will also make it possible to double the supply potential in Brazil. The company expects to reach 250 new stores in the country in the period, with 100 units in the Northeast, providing business opportunities for local entrepreneurs. In this way, the expansion of Oggi Sorvetes brings with it the promise of a transformation agenda for small entrepreneurs in the region.

Results and expectations
In 2023, Oggi Sorvetes reached significant milestones, recording the sale of 50 million liters and exceeding revenue of R$850 million. The results were boosted by the beginning of financing for franchisees, opening doors for even greater expansion of the business.

The company also stood out in the market with the opening of 25 new stores per month, strengthening its presence in the Southeast, South and Central-West regions and consolidating its position as one of the main ice cream brands in Brazil. During the year, the company advanced from 21st to 18th place in the ABF Ranking, which recognizes the 50 Largest Franchise Networks in Brazil by Operations, also standing out as one of the brands with the highest percentage growth in the period.

For 2024, the company is optimistic about its growth expectations. With a planned investment of around R$60 million, the company aims to achieve revenue of R$1 billion, seeking a more efficient industry and more competitive prices.
