Rio de Janeiro City Hall has just issued 36 new licenses for construction with tax incentives in the Reviver Centro 2 area, which consists of the urban, social and cultural revitalization of the city center. The information was confirmed this Monday (11/03) by Municipal Secretary of Economic Development, Innovation and Simplification, Chicao Bulhõesaccording to information from the newspaper O Globe.

The announcement was made at the event “New Opportunities for the Center of Rio”, promoted by Aliança Centro-Rio, at BQ Offices and Coworking, which discussed the recovery of the central region of the city. The meeting was attended by around 300 thousand professionals and 60 thousand companies.

At the meeting, Bulhões pointed out that the licenses issued for the construction of new buildings will be mixed-use, with offices, commercial spaces and housing, but that the focus will be on the residential part.

The event where demands for the region were debated was attended by around 150 businesspeople, traders, property managers and building owners from the central region of Rio. Data from Rio Negócios show that the area earns approximately R$560 billion per year, corresponding 32% of the city’s revenue.

Other themes also permeated the convention, such as “the resumption of Uruguaiana by the city of Rio, together with the state government, aiming at urban reorganization”; “public security integrated with the intelligence of the Municipal Guard, in partnership with the police”; “Cultural Reviver at extended hours and on the weekend”; It is “the Seguir em Frente program, in partnership with the Department of Health, to guide the homeless population”.

For Cláudio Hermolin, president of the Civil Construction Industry Union in the State of Rio de Janeiro (Sinduscon-Rio), the first results of the Reviver Centro 1 and 2 programs project that, by 2027, the central region will have 12 thousand new residents, doubling the number of residents.
