The Annual Vehicle Licensing Renewal Fee (TRLAV) expires next Monday (1/4), in Minas Gerais. The tax, worth R$39.36, must be paid by all vehicle owners, regardless of the license plate number.

The payment method is the same as for IPVA, that is, via Pix or directly at the self-service terminals or counters of authorized collection agents (Bradesco, SICOOB, Mercantil do Brasil, Caixa, Mais BB, Santander, Banco do Brasil and Itaú), simply inform the vehicle’s Renavam number. To pay at lottery outlets, it is necessary to present the State Collection Document (DAE).

Anyone who chooses to pay via Pix must note, before completing the operation, the name of the issuing institution, Itaú Unibanco SA or Santander (Brasil) SA, and the beneficiary, State of Minas Gerais, CNPJ 18.715.615/0001-60.

Both to generate the Pix QR Code and to issue the guide (DAE), the taxpayer must access the website of the State Secretariat of Finance of Minas Gerais (SEF/MG), which is www.fazenda.mg.gov.br.

Non-payment of TRLAV or late payment generates a fine of 0.15% per day until the 30th day, increasing to a fine of 9% from the 31st to the 60th day. From the 61st day onwards, the fine is 12%. In all cases, interest is also calculated at the Reference Rate of the Special Settlement and Custody System (Selic).

This year, the State’s expected revenue from the Licensing Fee is R$430 million.

Vehicle regularity
Payment of TRLAV, as well as IPVA and any traffic fines, is a criterion for obtaining the 2024 Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV), issued by the traffic authority. The CRLV is the document that certifies the vehicle’s regularity so that it can travel.
