The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) released new survey numbers this Wednesday Civil Registry Statistics 2022. In addition to deaths and birthsthe survey also analyzed marriage data across the country and found that Brazilians are getting married less and less and getting divorced more and more.
In Rio Grande do Sul, the number reduced by approximately 3 thousand compared to 2021 (125,587 marriages).

Divorces advance
The number of divorces increased in Rio Grande do Sul. In 2022, 7,950 couples chose to separate. In the 2021 survey, there were 6,809. In Porto Alegre, the scenario repeats itself. 705 couples divorced in 2022 – more than the 569 in 2021.
