Driver can receive driver’s license at home through an agreement between Detran-BA and Correios

Initiative comes into effect from this Tuesday (26)

In addition to the modernization of the National Driving License (CNH) application process, citizens can now opt for the convenience of receiving the document at home. This is because Detran-BA (State Department of Transit) and the Post Office enter into an agreement to deliver the document to homes. The service is optional and is running from this Tuesday (26). Employees of the Citizen Assistance Service (SACs) were instructed by the Administration Secretariat (SAEB) to guide citizens.

A driver’s license at home can be requested for those looking for their first license, permanent driver’s license, renewal, second copy, addition or change of category. As it is an optional service, it has an additional cost of R$26.00. However, if you prefer the traditional method, citizens can collect their driver’s license at Detran or SAC where they requested the service, at no extra cost. It is also important to highlight that delivery is only made within Bahia territory, within the state of Bahia.

According to the general director of Detran, Rodrigo Pimentel, this is another service that brings more convenience and comfort. “In addition to modernizing the system, which is currently digital in almost its entirety, the CNH now arrives directly at the updated address of the CNH applicant. The State Government continues to invest to provide more practicality with less bureaucracy”, he emphasized.

“We signed this agreement with the Post Office because we believe that delivering the document at home makes life easier for citizens. It is an optional service that brings practicality, which eliminates the need to go to SAC offices to collect the document”, considers the Secretary of Administration, Edelvino Góes.

The service allows citizens to follow the delivery step by step, through the Post Office tracking.
