Parintins will face Amazonas in the quarterfinals of the Amazonense Championship, but even before the duel takes place, it is full of controversies. Tourão coach, Maurinho Fonseca, stated that because of him the team would not enter the field.

According to the commander, the team was harmed by Rio Negro’s withdrawal during the match last Friday.

Parintins needed to win by more than eight goals to pass Manauara in the general table and guarantee, in addition to the leadership, a place in Série D 2025. When the score read 7-0, Rio Negro withdrew from the duel.

For me, Parintins wouldn’t take the field against Amazonas.”

The coach has been preparing for the duel for a week. As it is not in the overall leadership, the team needs to be the return champion to guarantee a calendar in 2025.

The Amazonas Sports Court of Justice (TJD-AM) opened an investigation to investigate the case. Maurinho Fonseca states that he carries out the training, but expects agility from the Court.

My preparation for Amazonas is in the hope of not having a game until the investigation opened by the TJD is resolved. I’ve been playing football for over 30 years and I’ve never experienced this. We have been here since the end of November last year, we fought hard to achieve our goals for 2025, but they acted to take us away and throw everything we did this season in the trash – he stated.

After the game against Rio Negro, forward Allefe, from Parintins, even posted on social media that he saw the president of Manauara, Marcus Souza, current general leader, enter the opponent’s dressing room. The match summary confirms the visit to the referee’s dressing room.

Maurinho demanded more speed in the progress of the entire process so that it can be resolved before the quarter-finals of the Amazonense.

“Was any director from Rio Negro or Manauara asked to give a statement at the police station? Was any player from Rio Negro? Because an athlete of mine went through this discomfort. Honestly, I’m very disappointed with all of this. We had a great campaign. We filled our stadium, we played great games and now I have the feeling that everything was in vain”, he concluded.
