Parintins will face Amazonas in the quarterfinals of the Amazonense Championship, but even before the duel takes place, it is full of controversies. Tourão coach, Maurinho Fonseca, stated that because of him the team would not enter the field.

The coach has been preparing for the duel for a week. As it is not in the overall leadership, the team needs to be the return champion to guarantee a calendar in 2025.

The Amazonas Sports Court of Justice (TJD-AM) opened an investigation to investigate the case. Maurinho Fonseca states that he carries out the training, but expects agility from the Court.

Honestly, I’m very disappointed with all of this. We had a great campaign. We filled our stadium, we played great games and now I have the feeling that everything was in vain”, he concluded.

The quarter-final match between Amazonas and Parintins does not yet have a confirmed date, location or time. Tourão needs to win to qualify. If the game ends in a draw, Amazonas advances to the semifinals.
