Detran/TO carries out Operation Semana Santa, with inspections on several state highways

The action takes place in the municipalities of Paraíso do Tocantins, Gurupi, Peixe, Araguaína, Couto Magalhães and Palmas.

With the arrival of the Holy Week long holiday, the number of people taking to the road increases, and with it, the risk of accidents on the highways. To ensure a worry-free trip, the Tocantins State Traffic Department (Detran/TO) will carry out Operation Semana Santa, with inspections on several state highways between the 28th and 31st of March.

The Inspection and Security Manager, Enildo Leite, draws attention to the importance of inspection actions during this period. “Detran/TO teams will be present in several cities in Tocantins and our focus is to ensure safety on state highways and thus reduce the number of accidents and consequently deaths on the roads during this long holiday.”

The operation will be carried out in the municipalities of Paraíso do Tocantins, Gurupi, Peixe, Araguaína, Couto Magalhães and Palmas, among others.

To ensure that drivers continue their journey safely, Detran/TO advises drivers to pay attention to the vehicle’s mandatory equipment: checking the brakes, the general condition of the lighting system, tires, windshield wipers and the seat belt. safety before hitting the road.

The agency also reminds you that it is important to pay attention to the necessary documentation and that it is up to date, such as the National Driving License (CNH) and the car document, the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV). Both can be physical or digital – electronic versions can be issued using the Digital Traffic Card (CDT) application.

During the trip, the Department highlights that drivers must pay extra attention and respect highway speed limits and overtaking conditions.

On stretches that are under construction, the agency recommends that drivers reduce speed and obey local signage. Attention should also be paid at intersections and urban areas.
