Tocantins News – Since the beginning of the 2024 school year, the State Department of Education (Seduc) has been distributing kitchen utensils, including consumer and permanent goods, to all 502 school units in the State Network. The investment value for the acquisition is R$17 million, funded with federal and State Treasury resources.

The new utensils aim to meet food safety standards and regulations. In addition to improving operational efficiency in school canteens, it also promotes a more attractive, educational and sustainable environment for students.

There are 46 items, including baking trays, pans, casseroles, cauldrons, couscous pans, colanders, frying pans, milk jugs, spoons, ladles, slotted spoons, forks, knives, tongs, bowls, cups, sieves, graters, thermometers, organizing boxes, cutting boards, baskets and thermoses.

The food handler at the Frederico José Pedreira Neto State School, in Palmas, Cássia Reis de Sousa, said she is happy to have received these new items. “They will be very useful to us, as the new utensils make work easier and ensure that food is handled more safely.”

For the director of Colégio Estadual Dom Alano Marie Du Noday Gean dos Reis, in Palmas, Gean dos Reis, the items arrived at a good time and will make a difference, “mainly in terms of facilitating food handling, as well as serving snacks and dinner to students. The school community is very satisfied with this delivery”, explained.

According to the director of School Support at Seduc, Herton Estevão Mota Brito, this investment aims to promote improvements in the physical structure of school units, composing, renewing and standardizing the equipment and furniture of state public schools.

“By furnishing and equipping schools, we improve the perception of the quality of the school environment by students, parents, teachers and the community as a whole, in addition to promoting the well-being of these students, facilitating the interaction and relationships of everyone in the environment. school. These are elements that positively and directly influence student learning and guarantee quality education.”
