Suspects of stealing money from an elderly woman during refrigerator repair in Lagoa do Tocantins are arrested by the PM

An action launched by the Military Police through the 13th BPM resulted in the arrest of three men suspected of stealing around R$1,000.00 in cash from an elderly woman. According to information obtained at the Civil Police station, through the Tocantins Agency report, after discovering that she had been a victim of theft, the elderly woman called the Military Police and reported the incident.

According to the victim, the suspects went to his residence to carry out maintenance on a refrigerator, but the individuals broke into his room and stole his retirement money. According to the elderly woman, upon realizing that all her retirement money had been stolen, the criminals had already fled.

The incident was recorded on the afternoon of Tuesday, 26th, in the municipality of Lagoa do Tocantins. Armed with the information and characteristics of the suspects, the military from the 13th BPM began measures within Operation Protector of Borders and Divides, with the aim of locating and arresting the suspects.

According to the Military Police, in light of the information, patrols and approaches throughout the city were intensified. Military police officers from the municipality of Santa Tereza do Tocantins identified the suspects and the vehicle used by them. When the approach continued, the individuals were located with R$1,000.00 thousand reais in cash and a portion of a substance analogous to marijuana.

After approaching the suspects aged 38, 44 and 50, the military contacted the elderly woman, and after sending photos of the individuals via messaging application, the victim recognized the three suspects as being the perpetrators of the crime.

In view of the facts, the individuals were arrested and then taken to the 2nd Civil Police Service Center – 2nd CAPC in Taquaralto, where the perpetrators were arrested in the act for the crime of qualified theft, in addition to of a Detailed Term of Occurrence – TCO for possession of portions of narcotics for consumption.
