Water supply in 30 cities in RN will only resume this Thursday

The Rio Grande do Norte Water and Sewage Company (Caern) reported that the water supply in the 30 municipalities in Rio Grande do Norte affected by the leak of a pipeline in the state should only be resumed this Thursday (28). Yesterday (26), the Monsenhor Expedito pipeline showed a leak, at Ponte da Fonte, which connects Monte Alegre to Lagoa Salgada.

“Caern’s forecast is that the service will be completed by the early evening of next Thursday (28), when water distribution will resume to the 30 municipalities served by the pipeline. After the system is turned on again, the deadline for complete normalization is up to 72 hours”, the company said in a note.

According to Caern, shortly after becoming aware of what had happened, the water supply was turned off to contain the leak and “take appropriate measures”.

The cities affected and whose supply is suspended are: Barcelona, ​​Boa Saúde, Bom Jesus, Campo Redondo, Coronel Ezequiel, Ielmo Marinho, Jaçanã, Japi, Lagoa D`anta, Lagoa de Pedras, Lagoa de Velhos, Lagoa Salgada, Lajes Pintadas, Monte Alegre, Monte das Gameleiras, Passa e Fica, Rui Barbosa, Santa Cruz, Santa Maria, São Bento do Trairi, São José de Campestre, São Paulo do Potengi, São Pedro, São Tomé, Senador Elói de Souza, Serra Caiada , Serra de São Bento, Serrinha, Sítio Novo and Tangará.
