The Easter weekend in Brazil will have sunny spells alternating with periods of instability. The scenario is worrying in the Southeast, especially in mountainous areas that have not yet recovered from landslides and the soil remains waterlogged. Regarding temperature, the period will be muggy in practically the entire country.
In the South of Brazil, “Good Friday” will have many clouds and scattered showers of rain may occur, especially in the Northern Half of Rio Grande do Sul and part of Santa Catarina. In Paraná the forecast is sunny and hot. Saturday will have predominantly dry weather with sunshine with a typical autumn temperature range throughout the region. The minimum is below 15°C in the highest altitudes with warming and maximums around 28 to 30°C in many areas. It gets warmer in the west of the region with up to 33°C. On Sunday the weather will be muggy with instability expected to return from afternoon to night in the west and south of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Temporaries cannot be ruled out. The coast of the region will have favorable weather with a Northeast wind over the weekend.
At the same time in the Southeast, Friday will have many clouds and rain showers, especially in the Northern Half of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Southern Half of Minas Gerais and the Eastern part of Espírito Santo. In the southern half of São Paulo and the northern part of Minas Gerais, the sun predominates and warms up in the afternoon. On Saturday the rain moves further north. As a result, the weather opens up in a large part of São Paulo. On the other hand, instability predominates between Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo and a large part of Minas Gerais. Models project low volumes of rain. On Sunday, instability loses strength in the largest region in the region and the sun appears between clouds. Temporary rain may occur in the Northeast of Minas Gerais and over Espírito Santo.
At the same time in the Central-West, the weather will be humid and unstable during Friday between the North of Mato Grosso do Sul, the South of Goiás and a large part of Mato Grosso. In other areas, the sun predominates. At the weekend the sun appears between clouds with maximum temperatures around 33 to 35°C. The heat and humidity favor isolated showers of rain between the afternoons and nights. There is a risk of isolated events of heavy rain and temporary storms cannot be ruled out.
Over the Northeast, the Intertropical Convergence Zone, ZCIT, will cause moderate to heavy rain in part of Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará, Piauí, Maranhão between Friday and Saturday. On the other hand, the sun appears in a large part of Bahia and the interior of Paraíba, Pernambuco and Sergipe. On the coastal strip the sun appears and there may be temporary rain. On Easter Sunday, instability loses strength across the region. In the North Sector the weather becomes wetter with a predominance of clouds and scattered rain may occur, as well as on the coast.
The North of the country will have a very humid Easter weekend with a predominance of clouds and occasional sunny spells. It rains on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In some places it may rain heavily with daily accumulations of around 30 to 50 mm. The exception will be the southern half of Tocantins with sunny spells and intense heat, especially on the weekend. In Pará there may be periods of improvement and sunshine on the weekend, especially in the Northern Half of the state.
