The 18th Funcultura Audiovisual opens registrations next Monday (1st). Promoted by the State Department of Culture (Secult-PE) and the Pernambuco Historical and Artistic Heritage Foundation (Fundarpe), the notice reserves R$9.2 million for Pernambuco’s cinematographic productions.

The form will be available on the Mapa Cultural de Pernambuco platform (www.mapacultural.pe.gov.br). The deadline ends at 5pm on April 30th.

The notice, which must be accessed via the link https://www.cultura.pe.gov.br/editais/includes projects that meet the categories of feature film, television products, short films, games, broadcasting, training, development of the film society, revealing Pernambucos, research and preservation, feature film development, development of products for TV, short-term serial work, completion and distribution of a feature film, web series/web channel.

“Funcultura brings a very important dynamic to the cultural production chain, whether through the qualification of cultural producers across the State, or through the generation of employment and income. With the projects approved at Funcultura Audiovisual, we were able to produce art, research and knowledge in Pernambuco’s audiovisual, in addition to increasingly promoting accessibility for the public with special needs”, says the state secretary of Culture, Cacau de Paula.

“Pernambuco’s audiovisual is present in festivals and cinemas in various parts of the world, and in part because of this notice that launches productions of great quality and diversity onto the market. The Government of Pernambuco, through Secult-PE and Fundarpe, has been striving to guarantee the segment’s achievements. We strongly believe in the cultural potential of the State, which strengthens a complex production chain in the cultural sector”, highlights the president of Fundarpe, Renata Borba.

New notices

Funcultura has R$32 million to enable the execution of its notices in 2024.

According to state management, based on the demands presented by cultural producers, the new notices were guided by four highlighted points: Training; Adjustment of values; Simplification of language; and Agility in payment.

A listening process was carried out by the Funcultura Superintendence, linked to Fundarpe, with the participation of civil society and the State Council for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (CEPPC/PE), the Pernambuco Audiovisual Advisory Council (CCAUPE) and the State Council of Cultural Policy of Pernambuco (CEPC/PE).

“The 2023/2024 notices meet some demands identified through the interviews carried out in 2023. The presentation of the notices changed in terms of format and content, always seeking to facilitate the understanding of the rules by proponents. Trainings were also carried out in the months of January, February and March 2024, in all regions of the State”, explains Joana Mendonça, Director of Development at Fundarpe.

The topics of the notices were simplified, making them easier to understand. Some attachments were replaced by fields in the registration form and text repetitions were removed, as well as the standardization of topics in all notices. The files and their resolutions have new formats with their own visual identity, as well as features that facilitate viewing and handling by cultural producers.
