During this Holy Week period, Sebrae supports the holding of Fish Fairs in nine municipalities in Acre, namely: Rio Branco, Acrelândia, Porto Acre, Assis Brasil, Sena Madureira, Brasileia, Feijó, Tarauacá and Mâncio Lima. The event is an annual tradition and aims to provide access to fresh, quality fish for the population, as well as stimulating the local economy.
With the fair, local producers have the opportunity to sell their fish directly to consumers, eliminating intermediaries and guaranteeing more affordable prices. It is also an opportunity for entrepreneurs in the sector to expand their clientele and strengthen their businesses.
“There is an excellent economic movement during this period of Holy Week, not only for producers, with the increase in fish consumption, but also for other traders linked to the fairs, such as vegetable producers and Solidarity Economy”, highlighted the director Sebrae coach, Kleber Campos.
In addition to offering various species of fish, the Fair brings together products from family farming, which are vegetables, legumes and fruits. Such offers transform the event into an excellent opportunity for families to purchase quality products for their Holy Week meals.
Sebrae’s support in holding the Fish Fairs reinforces the institution’s commitment to the economic and social development of the region. By promoting access to healthy food and encouraging entrepreneurship in the fishing sector, Sebrae contributes to improving the quality of life of the Acre population and strengthening the regional economy.
According to the technical director, this year Sebrae primarily supports fairs in municipalities where the institution operates in fish production. “With this, we aim to guarantee the quality of the fish and an economic return for the properties. We provide technical guidance on the creation and production of fish, which, added to the market strategy, should benefit the population through better quality fish at an affordable price for the consumer”.
