Promoting quality education that is accessible to all is a fundamental objective to ensure integral development and equal opportunities in society. In this sense, the Government of Minas Gerais, through the Minas Gerais State Department of Education (SEE/MG), announced, this Tuesday (26/3), a series of actions aimed at the learning process and preparation of students of the state education network for the National High School Examination (Enem).

One of the main innovations for preparing students for Enem is the Study Play platform, a virtual environment in which the approximately 185 thousand students from the state network enrolled in high school will have free access to tools that bring innovative resources to enhance the learning of people from Minas Gerais. of the state education network.

The announcement brought together more than 200 students in the auditorium of the Centro Universitário de Belo Horizonte (UniBH), in the capital of Minas Gerais, and included the participation of the Deputy Secretary of State for Education, Geniana Guimarães Faria, who highlighted the secretariat’s constant search to promote, in different ways, the best performance of students in Minas.

“Today is a very important day for education in Minas Gerais, especially for high school students, and even more so for those in the 3rd year. We have a big challenge ahead of us: ensuring that our students can access the Enem, take the test and follow their path towards university. Our objective is to ensure that students take the test with quality, and we are confident that we will be able to achieve this goal”, said Geniana, who had a moment to chat with the students.

For Alice Vieira, a 3rd year high school student at Escola Estadual Mendes Pimentel, in Belo Horizonte, the platform will be a great help in her studies. “The platform will help us a lot in our studies, especially in correcting essays. I have noticed this difficulty and I believe that this platform will be wonderful, correcting essays quickly and pointing out exactly where we need to improve. I am very excited and I will definitely use it” .

Beneficiaries

Students in the 3rd year of high school and the 2nd and 3rd periods of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) will have access to the Estudos Play platform, available from the second half of April 2024. Students will be able to access it via computer , tablet or cell phone, both at school and at home, strengthening your preparation for the Enem. Furthermore, SEE/MG plans to extend access to all years of high school in the coming years.

“Through the use of pedagogical tools and efficient strategies, this incentive provides students with a perspective of the future, allowing them to perform excellently in the exam, enter university and realize their dreams and life projects”, assessed the Undersecretary of Education Development Basic at SEE/MG, Kellen Senra.

With the experience of someone who achieved a score of 980 in last year’s Enem essay, Marcela Rodrigues Medeiros, 18, highlighted the importance of assistance from platforms such as Estudos Play during her studies. “As a student, I would certainly like to have free support that would guide me to achieve a thousand marks. One of the biggest difficulties is finding good topics and tips that follow the same line in the construction of the text. So, with a platform like this, which offers support for students, miners will reach higher heights”, observed Marcela, who completed her studies at Escola Estadual Maria da Conceição Gonçalves Carrara, in Pedra Dourada.

She also highlighted that this agile support for writing corrections, along with improvement tips, can help public school students obtain better grades. “The tests are very important and the corrections, even more so. With the opportunity to always test, correct and improve, not only me, but many other students could perform even better in Enem”, she added.

Platform operation

The content of the Estudos Play platform is based on books that cover the four areas of knowledge: Languages and their Technologies, Applied Human and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and their Technologies, and Mathematics and their Technologies. In addition, the digital books have lessons with video lessons and commented questions, correction of handwritten writing and performance reports for students, classes, schools and regions.

SEE/MG / Disclosure

Developed with a carefully designed methodology, the platform considers essential pillars of the learning process, such as personalized learning paths, taking into account the individual characteristics of each student.

Data collection for management helps monitor educational indicators and decision-making by managers, while diagnostic assessment is based on the Enem and Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb) matrices. Furthermore, the quick correction of the writing is carried out automatically using Artificial Intelligence.

According to data provided by the platform, 95% of the topics covered in the 2023 test were covered in the material, resulting in an 86% increase in the approval of the Enem PPL (aimed at people deprived of liberty) from 2021 to 2022 in the state of Paraíba . Across the country, the content has already served students from 16 Brazilian states. Furthermore, it is also used by the private network, customized to your needs.

Undersecretary Kellen Senra explains that the platform was chosen because it presents relevant presentation characteristics and quality of available content. “Estudio Play was chosen because it is an adaptive platform, with handwritten corrections, which makes it easier for young people who read the content in the classroom. We also take into account the fact that it works via a platform or mobile app, has live classes, in addition to offering the possibility of monitoring student learning and performance”, she added.

The professor and pedagogical director of Estudos Play, Erik Anderson, assessed that the acquisition of the tool by the Government of Minas Gerais will be of great value. “We seek to promote greater equity in education, improve educational indicators and encourage access for students from the public network to universities. The platform, therefore, will enhance studies and guarantee more opportunities for students from the Minas Gerais network”, concluded Erik.

Strengthening actions and expanding access to Enem

In addition to the Estudos Play platform, the State Department of Education is planning a series of initiatives throughout the school year to boost studies for Enem and increase the participation of Minas Gerais students in the exam.

Among these initiatives is the holding of simulations and classes in schools, where students and teachers will have the opportunity to simulate the exam or study specific topics that are more likely to pass the test. Live classes reinforce points of collective deficiency and offer interaction, including moments to ask questions and receive feedback.

A complementary notebook will be made available to the state network for teachers responsible for the Life Project, containing guidance and reflections on the relevance of participating in Enem. Furthermore, 3rd year students will receive socio-emotional support, through the organization of dialogue groups and encouragement to continue their studies, promoting a positive perspective regarding the future. The incentive for students to participate in Fairs and Professional Exhibitions, both at public and private universities, will be expanded.

Students also have access to “Pre-Enem do Se Liga” teleclasses, shown 24 hours a day, from Monday to Sunday, on Rede Minas programming. In the capital and metropolitan region, it is shown on digital channel 9.2. To find out the channel number in each city in the interior of the state, access the Rede Minas website, at this link. Produced in partnership with Empresa Mineira de Comunicação (EMC), the preparatory course is made up of teleclasses and question-answers shown free of charge on the broadcaster’s multiprogramming.

Furthermore, for the application of the Enem tests, scheduled for the 3rd and 10/11th, SEE/MG will support, with transportation and snacks, students who live in municipalities where the test is not administered, facilitating the participation of more students in the exam.

This initiative also aims to highlight to the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) the need to expand the test locations in Minas Gerais. Currently, the state, which has 853 municipalities, carries out the exam in only 188 of them, according to 2023 data from Inep.

National highlight

In a survey carried out by the educational technology startup AIO Educação, Minas Gerais stood out nationally once again, achieving the highest average per school for the third consecutive year, reaching 561 points in 2022, considering the scores from the objective tests and the Enem essay. The study, released in October last year, also identified the school units in the Minas Gerais state education network that stood out with high scores among the country’s public schools that do not conduct an admission test.

Despite this highlight, the state still needs to improve student participation in the exam. Therefore, SEE/MG launched the campaign “Young+Citizen, your CPF in hand”, encouraging young people in high school to register or regularize their document status. The CPF is mandatory to register for Enem and to request exemption from the exam registration fee.
