Rio City Hall held, this Tuesday (26), an electronic draw that selected 75 street vendors to operate in the Uruguaiana region.

In the last two weeks, in parallel with the intervention work to implement improvements in the region, the Urban Control Coordination of the Municipal Public Order Secretariat (Seop), carried out a mapping in which 120 street vendors were identified in a position to be regularized.

Public Order Secretary Brenno Carnevale provided more details about the city hall’s actions.

“After mapping carried out by our technical team, we identified 120 street vendors in a position to be regularized. And after a study of the allocation capacity in that region, it was decided to legalize and establish 75 street vendors who will work on a certain stretch of Rua Uruguaiana”, he said.

The other 45 street vendors who were not included in the draw will be able to regularize themselves in other parts of the city.

Occupation of Uruguaiana begins on 8/4

From April 8th, 75 street vendors will be legalized and authorized by Seop to operate regularly in the Uruguaiana region. The occupation will also begin on this date, which will be carried out by the Municipal Guard, to order the place and enforce the rules established for street commerce and the use of public areas.

On the other hand, Seop’s intelligence sector detected that another group of street vendors, in the vicinity of Camelódromo, harbors illegal acts and crimes of receiving goods, especially cell phones that are stolen and stolen in the city:

“In another group of street vendors, which is located close to the camelódromo, illegalities are observed committed by some stalls inside the camelódromo, serving as a reception center, especially for phones and cell phones that are stolen and stolen in the city. In the near future, we will also carry out inspections in the Camelódromo pits and will greatly assist the Civil Police investigations”, he highlights.
