Agems (State Agency for the Regulation of Public Services of Mato Grosso do Sul) published this Tuesday (26) an ordinance that admits an economic-financial imbalance of R$ 12.5 million in the concession of MS-306 to the Way group, which manages the highway at a cost of R$1.7 billion. The ordinance was published in the Official State Gazette.

Signed by CEO Carlos Alberto de Assis, the ordinance deals with an extraordinary review of Concession Contract No. 02/2020, referring to the variation in the price of inputs and demonstration of impact on the MS 306 Highway Concession.

In practice, Agems explains that the economic and financial rebalance will be reestablished through the renegotiation of contractual obligations, which gives the possibility of modifying the work schedule foreseen in the Highway Exploration Program, as part of the process of restoring the economic-financial balance .

The application of the financial effects of the rebalancing will take place from April 9, 2024, the same period in which the third ordinary review and fourth tariff adjustment of the contract will take place.

Way-306

MS-306 was the first highway granted by the State Government, during the administration of Reinaldo Azambuja (PSDB), to the private sector. The contract was signed in March 2020 and from April 22, 2021, the Way-306 Consortium took over the administration of the highway for 30 years. The intention is that these new investments can improve local traffic conditions, provide comfort to drivers and thus reduce the number of accidents.

The concession contract for the MS-306 highway involves an investment of R$1.7 billion in the road. According to studies carried out, the prospect is to reduce the number of accidents, in addition to reducing vehicle travel time, with savings of 4 million per year in investments and maintenance of the highway.
