On May 24th, on the North Coast, the “Projeto Mulheres do Nosso Bairro” will take place, an action by the City of Ilhéus, a joint action of municipal departments coordinated by the Secretariat of Policies for Women (SPM).
During the event, several services will be offered, including updating the Single Registry (CADÚnico), requesting the Bolsa Família, entry into the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC), for those who wish to retire due to age, issuance of the Free Pass card, the card for people with disabilities and an autistic card – new in the city –, HPV vaccine, basic vaccines, mammography exams, blood pressure assessments and other tests essential for women’s health. Medical professionals will be available for consultations and guidance, while SPM will offer legal advice, psychological advice and the participation of DEAM (Special Women’s Assistance Police Station), among other important services.
“It is our duty to provide facilities so that our citizens and especially women from Ilheense can exercise their citizenship. Women are often unable to take time out to take care of themselves, so we want to bring these services to them, in an itinerant action, in the neighborhoods of Ilhéus. This first edition will be on the North Coast and later, we will go to other neighborhoods, with all the structure”, explains Carla Serafim, head of SPM.
Taking care of the population is a priority, and providing Ilheenses women with the opportunity to take care of themselves is a fundamental step towards the well-being of the entire community. So, mark your calendar: May 24th, on Avenida Litorânea Norte, in Malhado, from 8 am to 5 pm, is the day to care for and celebrate the “Women of Our Neighborhood”.
