The medicine ‘Ozempic’ is currently a craze among women and men who want to lose weight, but the medicine’s side effects have caused a lot of talk on the internet. After the terms “Ozempic head” and “Ozempic fingers” went viral, a new consequence of weight loss is resonating on the web: it is “Ozempic Breasts”, a term used to explain sagging in the region, caused by accelerated weight loss.
An American specialist, doctor Walter Joseph, published a video on his Instagram explaining what could cause the new side effect. Unlike the head, which becomes larger and disproportionate to the body after weight loss, the breasts tend to become ‘saggy’:
“If you have lost a lot of weight in a short space of time with any of the injectable weight loss medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro, you may have noticed that, like your face, your breasts have also started to ‘deflate’.” , he said.
The doctor also explained that the process happens because “significant and rapid weight loss does not allow the skin enough time to recover, recede and shrink.”

The medication is composed of semaglutide, a substance responsible for controlling satiety and blood glucose levels, as well as stimulating the production of insulin.
The injectable has been the choice of celebrities and ordinary people who want to lose weight quickly. American presenter Oprah Winfrey has already revealed that she has adopted pen treatment. Other celebrities who lost weight also became the subject of speculation.
According to data from the Associação Paulista de Medicina, the main side effects of the medicine are nausea and vomiting. Novo Nordisk, manufacturer of semaglutide-based medicines, states that most of these effects are mild to moderate in severity and happen transiently, that is, they last days or a few weeks.
