Montes Claros City Hall declared a public health emergency due to the lack of pediatric beds available for the Unified Health System and health plans.
In the document, the municipality defines the current scenario as “alarming” due to the lack of beds for children. The validity of the established rules is 60 days, with the possibility of extension for the same period.
“Partial intervention is determined by the Montes Claros Municipal Health Department in the regulation and occupancy of pediatric beds in the Unified Health System – SUS, in the municipality of Montes Claros”, determines the decree.
The City Hall also highlights that during the emergency situation, transfers of patients from other cities to Montes Claros are restricted and that the Chiquinho Guimarães UPA must be temporarily transformed into a pediatric emergency hospital.
During the term, it is still established that the municipality can adopt all measures to solve the problem, including the acquisition of services, products and labor without the need for bidding, as would occur in a normal situation.
