Dengue continues to advance in Blumenau. The new bulletin from the Department of Health, released this Friday morning (26), confirms another death from the disease. The victim, a 74-year-old man with comorbidities, died on April 10. With this new case, the number of Dengue deaths in the city since the beginning of the year rise to 17. The situation constitutes an epidemic scenario.

New cases and hospitalizations
In recent days, the epidemiological situation in Blumenau has worsened even further. Since the last bulletin, released on Thursday (25), the city has registered 117 new confirmed cases of dengue and one death. In total, since the first week of 2024, Blumenau has accumulated 32,100 probable cases of the disease. Of these, 23,277 are still under investigation and 8,823 were confirmed. Among the confirmed cases, 13 patients are hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 44 in the ward.

Throughout the state, they have already been confirmed 121 deaths from the disease. According to the Government Monitoring Panel, another 34 are still under investigation.
