The state will receive 126 thousand doses, but there is still no deadline for sending the shipment. The selected municipalities are in the Metropolitan Region:
In total, the six municipalities total less than 5% of deaths and cases dengue fever in RS, according to data from the State Department of Health (SES). The cities are not among the 12 with the highest number of cases of the disease in 2024.

The criteria mentioned by the Ministry of Health in the selection of cities in RS consider municipalities with a population of more than 100 thousand inhabitants and higher average annual incidence rates of dengue in the last 10 years. Other factors are the predominance of a serotype associated with severe cases and the number of cases since July 2023.
The State Health Surveillance Center (Cevs) states that it is awaiting more information on the topic. Next Monday, there will be a meeting of teams from Cevs and the Ministry’s National Immunization Program.
